The Australia-ASEAN Council has provided funding to James Cook University to run a series of workshops in South-East Asia in order to contribute to knowledge exchange and engagement between Australia and ASEAN. The AAC specifically generates opportunities for Australian business, education, science and innovation and the arts to work with partners in South-East Asia.
The first workshop was co-hosted by JCU and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. It’s primary aim was to develop the collaborative relations between the State of the Tropics and ASEAN alongside providing input to the State of the Tropics project on sustainable infrastructure.
Subsequent workshops will explore key research questions for the tropics and provide opportunities for review and feedback.
